My life has taken me to some pretty interesting places.
“What do you want to do when you grow up?” has been a question with many answers as the years have gone by. “Plan A” has come and gone. So, too, have plans B, C, D and E. Science, medicine, management, military duty, technical support and many other things have interested me, but I have discovered that interest and passion are two very different animals.
I wisely invested in my first SLR and a couple of lenses, documenting a better part of my unit’s deployment in Iraq. Experiencing life in another part of the world helped me to realize that I wanted to pursue a degree in History. I want to deeply know and understand the world and there’s certainly no better way of doing that than by looking at our past. I hope to combine this degree with my passion in photography and pursue a career that involves both -- perhaps as a photojournalist.
Right now, my focus is on completing my degree while developing my skills as a photographer. My primary interest in photography is from a journalistic perspective. I like the idea of being given an event or assignment to cover and being given the creative flexibility to cover it as I feel is appropriate.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. Any comments, suggestions and opportunities to photograph an upcoming event are welcome.
